Empathic Computing: Capturing the Potential of the Metaverse

This talk introduces Empathic Computing, a field of research that combines technology for natural collaboration, experience capture and implicit understanding to enable people to create shared understanding. It encompasses the various elements of the Metaverse, including the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space. In particular it encourages research that crosses the boundaries of the Metaverse taxonomy. In this way Empathic Computing helps capture the full potential of the Metaverse.
